Before you begin
- Import a video from your gallery, files or a supported public link.
- Decide which beginning and ending you want to keep.
- Listen to the original audio before deciding whether the exported clip should be silent.
Step by step
Preview the full source
Open the video in the editor and play it. Identify the first useful moment and the point where the clip should end, rather than cutting only by the file's total length.
Set the retained interval
Choose the trim tool and adjust the beginning and ending of the retained clip. Tap Apply to commit the tool adjustment, then preview the selected interval to check that the action starts and finishes cleanly.
Choose whether to mute
Use the mute tool if you want to remove the source sound. Apply the adjustment before continuing. Keeping sound and muting it are different output choices; listen again before exporting.
Save and export the result
Save the project if you may revise it later, then export the video. Play the exported file to check its length and sound before sharing.
Check the result
Leave enough context
A cut that is too tight can remove the start of a gesture or the end of a sentence. Check the first and last moments of the retained interval in motion.
Check silence in the exported file
A muted preview alone is not a reason to assume the final file is silent. Play the export and verify the result you are about to share.
What to know
- Muting removes source audio; this guide does not describe music replacement, audio mixing or speech cleanup.
- Duration trimming keeps a selected interval. It does not promise automatic highlight detection or a multi-clip editing workflow.
Questions and answers
Are trimming and muting paid features?
No. They are Free, along with basic local import, save, export and share.
Does trimming change the video's shape?
No. Trimming changes the retained time interval. Use the separate frame/crop tool when you want to change the visible picture.
Do I have to overwrite the original video?
No. The editing workflow is non-destructive. Keep your source and export the result as an edited video; save the project separately if you want to continue editing.
