Import a video from your gallery or files on Android

Already have a video on your phone? Choose Album or Files on the BeTheClip home screen and select it in Android's picker.

Importing receives the source video. Editing is optional, and a video being available for sharing does not guarantee that every device can edit its format.

Local import, preview and system sharing are Free. Basic local operations do not require sign-in.

Before you begin

  • Locate the video you want to import.
  • Keep sufficient storage for the app's local copy and any later export.
  • Use a video you own or have permission to edit and share.

Step by step

  1. Choose the local entry

Tap Album for gallery videos or Files to browse a file location.

  2. Select the video

Use Android's picker to choose the file. Cancelling the picker does not complete an import.

  3. Check the received source

Wait for the actual result, then preview the picture, duration and audio. Keep the original if editing is unavailable.

  4. Choose your next action

Use Share for an unchanged video or Edit when you want changes. Export after editing before sharing that result.

Check the result

If the file cannot be opened

Check that the selected file is available locally and that access has been granted. Read the actual error before trying a different file.

Confirm which video you are using

Check the source preview and duration rather than relying only on a thumbnail or filename.

What to know

  • Picking a file does not prove a successful import; device and media-format support still apply.
  • Local import does not create a cloud backup or publish the video.

Questions and answers

Do I need a video link?

No. Album and Files receive a video already on your phone.

Must I edit before sharing?

No. You can share an available original without editing it.

Does importing overwrite my selected file?

No. The workflow keeps a managed local source; editing and export do not overwrite the selected original.
