Save and reopen a video editing project on Android

Save preserves your editing project so you can return to it. Export creates a video file for playback and sharing; these are different actions.

After saving, reopen the project from Library and check the retained interval and effects before making more changes.

Saving and reopening local work are Free. Creating new Plus edits requires current Plus or trial access.

Before you begin

  • Open the project you want to keep.
  • Apply or cancel any active tool adjustment before saving.
  • Keep the app's local media and project data available on this device.

Step by step

  1. Finish the tool adjustment

Tap Apply for the adjustment you intend to keep, or cancel it before leaving the tool.

  2. Save the project

Tap Save in the editor and wait for Project saved. A loading state or error is not a save receipt.

  3. Find the saved work

Return to Library, choose Projects and open the project you saved.

  4. Check the reopened project

Preview it and check duration, framing and overlays. Save later changes separately from exporting a playback file.

Check the result

Check before leaving

Confirm the saved status rather than assuming that exiting the editor saved your latest adjustment.

Export when you need a file

Use Export when another app needs a finished MP4. A project entry is not the exported video.

What to know

  • Local project storage is not cloud synchronization or a guarantee of recovery after app data is removed.
  • A saved project still depends on its local media being available; an unavailable source cannot be recreated by the project entry.

Can I reopen saved work when Plus ends?
